So... I hope everyone's ready for a week of me in charge around here. Ipin has made my job very easy for me by being such a good captain before me. I intend to keep her system in place, with a few minor changes, and hope that it continues to work as well as it has done. I realise I haven't spoken to most of you over the past week, but that's only because I've been kept so busy with </a>swabbing the decks. Kasanoda, if it gets too much for you and Cookie Monster let me know and I'll draft someone else with less to do to help you. Jyabura and Ipin - you seem to work well together, so I'm giving you the same role. I'm sure you both understand why I have chosen Lucci as my First Mate, although I can't stress enough that I will value both your input on the running of the ship as well.

Hi everyone.

I haven't posted in a while. Sorry about that. I am enjoying life on my new... vessel? (This week's captain has forbidden the use of a similar word beginning with "s"). I have been spending a lot of time cleaning lately, but Lucci has told me to stop. So fine, I will. And the past couple of days I have been trying to persuade Jyabura to come out of room and stop sulking, but it hasn't really worked.

As Lucci mentioned in his post, the pigeons are nesting. I know I relinquished ownership of the shirt they are nesting in, but it's still kind of a weird concept that something I used to wear has become the setting for the conjugal relations of birds >_<

Oh yes and Lucci: I know I've said this to you already, but please leave the Straw Hat crew alone. I don't want a fight.

So apparently we're joining the Sweet Death Crew. This was arranged by Jyabura and Killua without my knowledge. Not that I'm not glad to be joining a larger group with a better ship, I'm looking forward to it in fact. It's just... thanks for leaving it to me to explain it to Lucci, yeah?

Life is getting slightly surreal of late. I have suddenly acquired, or at least I will soon be acquiring, a whole lot of new crew members, and there are pigeons making out in my cupboard.

Oh yes and before I forget: Sena? Hiruma? Are you still out there somewhere? What are we going to do about this new situation?

The newest addition to our crew seems to be here to stay. Some of you may have seen Lucci's post about Columba, the dove he found recently. She doesn't seem to like Hattori much as yet - possibly she is confused by a pigeon who wears clothes and drinks whiskey from a glass.

However, she has decided it would be a good idea to make a nest on the top shelf of my cupboard, on top of my orange polo shirt, and when I go near it she pecks my fingers. Lucci, could you do something about this, please?! I want my shirt back. >=[

EDIT: We got a ton of seasickness medication last time we restocked the ship so I should have enough now to stop me getting sick again.

(OOC edit: I'm back from my travels now, so should be around quite a lot at least for the next few weeks ^_^)

We are about to make port at an island which appears to be reasonably well inhabited. I'm very glad of this; I guess you all know I've been seasick again because Lucci posted about it. I was hoping I'd find my sea legs soon, but it doesn't seem to be happening. So I guess this time we just fill the hold with seasickness pills (and ginger ale! Thanks for the tip syuichirou_desu.)  And I just have to hope I don't get sick again, because it's been severely trying my teammates' patience. To make matters worse, they are not on speaking terms with each other at the moment. I'm not even going to go into that.

On the bright side I guess this island might have pigeons! We are hoping to find a bird to take with us to be a companion to Hattori.

There are some very strange things appearing on board our ship. There is a water bottle full of glowing neon-pink liquid in my cabin - Lucci has not yet deigned to tell me where it came from. It says "Drink me" on it, which doesn;t seem like a very good idea. Hattori seems to be rather fascinated by its eerie glow.

There is also a weird knife in the kitchen. Jyabura bought it, and later discovered that he cannot swear while holding it, because the words are replaced with completely innocuous ones like "glitter" and "rainbow" when they come out of his mouth. I therefore assume it is magical, but as it doesn't seem to do anything else I don't mind it as much as the liquid.

But seriously, come on guys. Can we not waste any more money on weird stuff from now on?

So, Lucci's player pointed out to me how funny it was that Lucci and Kaku had barely talked on mallowmateys. The main reason for this, is that I live halfway round the world and thirteen hours ahead of her at the moment =D We thought we'd redress the balance by writing a short log post of the morning after Lucci boarded Kaku and Jyabura's ship:

We sailed through a patch of very bad weather that lasted several days. Most of this time I have been laid low with seasickness and have been too ill to get out of bed and check my emails. Or to eat. Or anything much really. My presence in the cabin, languishing in bed and vomiting, has been very trying to Lucci. He's taken to sleeping on the other side of the room in the hammock. Hattori has been surprisingly sympathetic.

Well anyway, today I've eaten a piece of toast and not brought it back up. I am going back to bed and hopefully I will be better when I wake up. I had no idea storms at sea affected me so badly. Lucci and Jyabura were not sick at all.
